Hey, all. I posted this earlier, but got no response.
I'm still hoping someone out there can help. I
installed an Asante Ethernet card in my SE/30 but it's
been crashing whenever I try to access the internet
through a cable modem. I've tried MacWeb and iCab and
I get the same bus error when I type in a web address.
I'm running System 7.5.5 and used the network
selection tool to pick OT, then rebooted. I
configured TCP/IP to "Ethernet" and "Using
DHCP" (per Comcast's instructions). I haven't
installed any other networking software or drivers
other than what comes with the OS. The Asante card
has a 3 position switch: TPL, TPN and TK. I belive
the TK position is for the AAUI connector, and TPL
stands for Link Integrity and TPN is No Link
Integrity. I thought the switch should be in the TPN
position, but the light on the modem (which shows it's
connected to a computer) only comes on when the switch
is in the TPL position. So I'm thinking that's the
correct position. Does anyone have any pointers for
me? Thanks in advance for your help.
