no, only id 7 is reserved, any thing else can use any id you want. 
traditionally, the built in hard drive is id 0 (but it doesn't have to
be, and i've used other addresses for various reasons) and cd rom drives
are traditionally 3 or 4, but it doesn't really matter so long as there
is no duplication, duplication, if you are lucky, will keep things from
working at all, if you aren't lucky things will work a little bit, be
weird, and generally cause problems.
