This might be useful, it's the upgrade guide for a ppc 6100, this particular page details the extensions etc you need (for "most" CD ROMS)
http://www.kan.org/6100/cd.html if you can get the extensions the you might be OK, you also have to make sure you get the SCSI id right, I think it's usually 3 for CD ROMS but I suppose it doesn't really matter as long as it's not 0,7 or conflicting with another id. I'm having a problem with an external hard drive which I can't get my SE 30 to recognise, I suspect my problem is a hardware/cable thing though.
