It's really OT for this list, but now that two people have asked, here 
you go:

OS X Mail shows icons for users, in the upper right corner of an email. 
  If you're using that, you see a U.S. coin in the upper right corner 
when you read mail from me.  If you like, I can send you a few images 
so you can see what I mean here.

For Mark, he has a Flat Pack Mac that shows up when he sends email.  If 
he changes that Icon, most of us (those of us with the FPM icon cached 
locally) will not see his new icon until it is removed from the local 
cache, wherever that is.  I haven't been able to find it yet.

And yes, it works for emails to a mailing list. :)
