Yes, there's lots of things you can do with an SE; since you have an
internal HD, you have lots of options. SE's can send email, write
correspondence and run databases; many of the same things today's computers
can do (if you can find the software). They're especially great for kids,
as was recently discussed on this list. I'm sure many people on this list
will share their SE experiences.

But if you already have a higher-end computer, you probably won't be using
your SE for everyday work. I know that's the case for me. However, I love
my SE and I love to show it off on my desk at work, where it's a great
conversation piece. Since I work at a college, many students say "I used
one of those in grade school," while the staff reminisce about using one in
college.

Aside from being a conversation piece, I run a slideshow on it via an
AfterDark screensaver module. Normally I run family pictures, but right now
I'm running some halloween-themed images. When I get bored of the slide
show I can run it as a clock using Blackwatch. While I find that the clock
is pretty poorly designed, it probably attracts more comments than the
slide show. Of course, since the clock (and slideshow) runs as a
screensaver, it's possible to use the SE for other things (one idea: keep a
filemaker database in the kitchen with recipes) and have it revert to clock
mode when you're not using it.
