Yes - I've not seen a portrait CRT smaller than 15" nominal diagonal, 
which means about 9" across the smaller dimension.

I'm now looking at 12" LCDs, which have a display 'smaller dimension' 
of around 7.4", which isn't far off the 7.25 aperture width of an SE. 
Then use the s/w at portrait.com to rotate the display, which is 
produced by a VGA output from whatever logic board resides in there. 
(Sadly, the s/w isn't Mac OS X compatible)

And with 5" more 'headroom' than standard in the "Big Head" you could 
get almost any logic board in there!
