Jan (and others), Copying files between PeeCee and mac. This might be a bizarre way to do this but I run Basilisk II (http://www.uni-mainz.de/~bauec002/B2Main.html) on the PeeCee. This mac emulator runs as if it is a range of machines (determined by you and the type of ROM you install) and uses up to system 8.1. It uses the PeeCee floppy drive as the native mac drive and also puts the PeeCee hard drive(s) on the mac desk top. Files can easily be transferred between mac floppy and PeeCee.
As an added extra you get to run all (all 68K compatible that is) of your fav mac software on your PeeCee. I installed this on my work machine as per the instructions and by going to the chooser I was instantly able to access all the mac machines via appletalk over the ethernet network. Running it full screen confuses a lot of passers-by who recognise the Apple desktop :) Surfing the web is no drama either. It's a nice break from the insanity of PeeCee-ness. Scott Geelong, Australia. -----Original Message----- howdy i want to take files from my classic and pb100 via floppy to windoze computers - file format no probs, just making sure the floppies can be read both ends. i am using system 6.08, and dont want to use 7 and up. is there a thing like pc exchange for system 6 that just allows me to use pc format floppies in my macs? had a look at faq, and i know of apple file exchange, its just clunky and a bit obscure - if someone can enlighten me on the easy way to use that, then great, otherwise what else could i do? -- Compact Macs is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/>.
