Subject: Help and Help!
       Greetings all:
I'm new to the list and I know very little about computers. So, with that in
mind, I have an old Mac Plus with an external hard drive that I have used for years.
For some reason, when I turned it on the last time, it doesn't seem to know that there
is a hard drive attached. The happy face comes on the screen, and then it recognizes
there is a disk in the disk drive, but no hard drive. What's going on here? What
things can a no-nothing like myself do to "jar it's memory?"
Also, I have a Mac Classic that I have also used for several years. It has
never given me any problems, (knock on wood) until today. I am a pastor and was
writing a sermon for our services tonight when suddenly, it popped up a little,
"system error" message on the screen with a little "bomb" and I had to restart the
whole thing. Thankfully I had just saved what I was working on so it didn't disappear
into never-never land. Is this Classic about to die? Another thing I've noticed is the
time/date. Until about a month ago it was always correct. Now it's always Jan. 1,
1904. What does this mean? Has my little faithful Classic gone around the bend and
about to go to the great beyond?
Any help you all could give me would be great.
       Thanks - Pastor Glenn.
P.S. I use, "Write Now" as my program, version 1.0
       Thanks again.

Bill
