Well it's the holiday season... (ho ho ho) and I'm throwing together a gift for the young'uns -- turning a classic into a mean lean gaming machine!
I have some old faves that I'll be sticking on, but in the meantime I've been downloading heaps of abandonware to fill her up PROBLEM 1: Currently I've got the classic set up with system 6.8, but I'm worried that this might disqualify a lot of games. Should I upgrade it to 7.1? Or, given the monitor and processor limitations, is this a silly fear? PROBLEM 2: Whatever system I use, I'll test drive each game to make sure that it works, but I don't really have the time to sit and play each game for long. I'd like to avoid cramming her with crap games (what kinda present would *that* be?), so I'd really appreciate any recommendations for specific old games that you've played and loved (and should run on her). For example, one of the kids is a boy, he loves sports, and probably would love sports games. I hate sports games, so can't really judge.... Thanks y'all and merry xmas, belated happy Chanukah, kwanza, et caetera et alia... Nicole -- Compact Macs is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/>.
