Yes, it _can_ be done - 800 x 600 on the built-in screen of a CC. Japanese enthusiasts worked out how to get SVGA on a 575 (which is normally VGA only).

So, put a 575 logic board, a 575 analogue board and a 575 yoke (this last part is crucial to get a display that fills the screen), in a CC, and you can have 800 x 600 on its 10" CRT.
