Hello

I am new here (I may have been a subscriber years ago but I can't
remember ;), oh no now that I remember it was the vintage macs list not
this one!). Well I've used Mac Pluses for quite some time, my first
encounter with a Mac Plus was when I was 14 I am 26, it was MY first Mac
:). Well to the point, I have three now, but one is broken. I have
several situations:

Well, first the Mac Plus that's out of order looks great but the screen
only lights (no picture) vertically (about half inch thick). I opened
it up to adjust the voltage, monitor and such but no luck.. So I guess
I wont try anything else, I don't want to get shocked! What really
puzzles me is that the inside of the case IS NOT dark grey like the
others, instead it is a greyish silver color (smooth) and the signatures
show VERY clearly. I never encountered a Mac Plus like this, and I've
opened many, throughout these years. I had no idea Steve Jobs' name was
there (too hard to see/read even in a 512) but in this one I noticed the
name "Steven Jobs" close to the top, horizontally, very clearly. I was
happy to see it :) This machine has model: F7222NDM0001A and it's not
beige/yellowish but kinda off-white. The oldest one is beige/yellowish
F603407M001A and the other is off-white as well, E9442JBM5880. I assume
the last one is the newest, however as I opened it, I expected to see
the same inside design as the other, but no, it has the same old design
that any other Mac Plus has. So what's with the design?

And my other question (concern) is that even though the newest Mac Plus
looks perfect [inside & out] the battery broke and the acid came out
(pretty bad shape), I assume it was like that for years before it got to
me since it was given to our church from the salvation army as charity
years ago but was just stored (not used at all and I totally forgot
about it otherwise I would have asked for it sooner). I brought it home
a week ago and upon removing the rusty, messed up battery, it seems the
acid ate through the metal of the connector so one of them broke,
bummer!

What can I do? Looking at the broken Plus the part is totally perfect.

Ideas?

Thanks
Lil
