The problem here is that the Mac Plus was VERY SLOW when it came to
SCSI. On your G3, the SCSI bus can talk to the drive in "real time",
i.e. 1:1 interleave. The Mac Plus uses a 3:1 interleave, which means
that drives formatted in newer systems will not work on the Plus. You
need to find a utility (I think Spirit Utilities has this option) to
change the interleave of the drive. I can't remember if doing this
requires a reformat. BTW, this also applies to the Mac SE and Mac II,
which used a 2:1 interleave. Anything newer used 1:1 interleave.
