I was just at the Goodwill Computer Store in Austin, TX and they have a bin of the System Savers. From some of the earlier disussion it seems these might be considered "rare". Of course they're bulky, so a bin is probably about four or five of them. They're asking $5 each. I thought any list members in the vicinity might like to know. I could probably pick them up and ship them out if folks are interested, but they're relatively heavy and bulky, so shipping would add up to a bit. Plus they're of the "no returns" category at Good Will, which means they don't necessarily work, and I wouldn't want to assume the risk, so we'd have to figure something out with respect to that.
In other news, I think I mentioned the UT surplus auction here as a place to pick up loads of old compacts. It's been a few years since I've been to one of those auctions and there is one tomorrow. I stopped by the inspection today, and they no longer dispose of computer equipment at the University auctions. Apparently there's a TX law as of '99 requiring state institutes of higher learning to send the old computer stuff to the department of corrections. So if any of you are near Huntsville, TX (NNE of Houston, I believe) you might want to drop by and see if they're giving away surplus compacts.
