About a year ago, maybe 18 months but no more than that I found a copy of
AOL 2x. I installed it on my Classic running system 7.0 with system tune up
(I think it was 7, the Classic now has 6 on it) and used AOL's one month
free trial. I think I used an old 14k modem.
It was slow. Email was ok and I was able to get into the chat rooms but web
pages were terrible. Forever waiting for images to load and there seemed
to be a "downloading updates' window constantly open. So for email it was
ok but anything else forget it. But if as reported AOL have stopped
supporting 2x then that doesn't matter anyway.
