Or, you could just run real quick to Sears and pick one up (Torx T-15) for
$9 and be back home working on your computer :-) .

Subject: DIY Torx tool

> Hello compacters, have noticed some discussion about where to obtain
long-handled Torx tool to open Compact Mac cases. An easy substitute can be
made from an Allen (hex) wrench and some metal scraps. The only trick is to
find an English or metric hex wrench (you know, those l-shaped hex
tools)that fits the black screws at the bottom of the case. Certain hex
heads will exactly fit the Torx screws without stripping. Not sure whether
the one I'm using is English or metric... they're seldom marked. It just
works.
> The rest is up to your skills... Cut off some of the short "Ell" end and
solder, tape, braze, or glue it to a rod or stick of some kind. Mine is
about 9 inches...23 cm overall.
> My best is made from a 1/8 inch brass tube with the hex wrench soldered in
one end and 2 inches of copper tube (water pipe, here)as a T handle. Works
fine. Cost nothing.
