I recently upgraded my Mac Plus to 4 Megs of ram. I didn't bother booting it
before the installation of the extra ram and can't remember how long it took
with 1 meg. It seems to take a long time to boot. More than 30 seconds
before it scans for a drive.

If you're impatient like I am, then force the Plus to bypass the RAM test:
press the mouse button just before flipping on the power switch, and hold
it down until it starts the rest of the boot procedure. Speeds things up
quite a bit.
