IIRC the 128K couldn't work with the HD-20 due to memory limitations. 
The 512K could but it needed the "HD-20" file installed with the 
System in order to see it.  Meaning that you have to boot off of a 
floppy to use it.  The 512Ke, Plus and later models had the necessary 
boot code in ROM.
