Hi, I just replaced all the caps on a SE/30 mother board. In the process I lost 3 pads. The reason is, when the caps go bad they leak. When they leak they corrode the solder. Corroded solder can't conduct heat. So to take off the cap you need to scrape off the crud. I' going to try cutting the caps off. I think if you try to replace the caps after they have corroded you will have problems. I looked at a good SE/30 motherboard, and the caps would be easy to replace. I recommend changing all the caps on all the SE/30 motherboards now. This way, if you have a nice motherboard, it will stay that way. johnsn
