I picked up an SE some years ago with dual floppies that turned out to have a 45 meg hard drive on top of the upper floppy, snuggled under the neck of the crt. The hard drive setup was by Jasmine who also made external hard drives in that era. Its a half height drive, but not easily replicable with a newer one, as all others I've seen are longer than this one...which gets in the way of the crt. Though this one had two model 75 high density floppies in it, only the bottom one reliably reads/writes in high density format. I've swapped the top floppy and had no effect...so either its a rom thing or perhaps interference from the hard drive or whatever? I had it set up as a floppy duplicator for while, but the hard drive got flaky. I think its still here somewhere...but I haven't played with it in ages.
