Hi,

I know this may be common knowledge to seasoned compact mac users but it may be useful to new members like myself.
The hard disk(40mb sony) on my se/30 stopped working the other day, with no startup except from floppy. I read a while back that removing the drive and giving it a sharp knock can get it working, well it worked for me and the machine is back to normal so don't give up on the old machine until you try this one.

Steven

Please take it to the next level. A drive that needs a whack on the side is close to a

total crash. If you like the stuff on that drive, get a newer one and transfer the contents.
