Yo compacters everywhere,

Our Christopher Kolp <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> askz:

<I... need to put my compact macs... into storage... I'm worried that moisture,
humidity, rain, dust, etc. will potentially damage the computers... Any other thoughts
or suggestions?>

Not to worry. Just stack 'em on pallets. Perhaps throw a tarp over them to keep dust
and crap to a minimum. Often, I buy compacts by the pallet that have been stored
outside exposed to the elements for months. And they work just fine. You will suffer
far greater loss to dead batteries, dried lubricant in the floppy drives, and
"stiction" of the hard drives than you will in your storage locker. New batteries, a
good floppy douche, and an ocassional replacement of a hard drive will see your Macs
working again.
