Be sure the cord's in the Mac's rear socket all the way. Is the wall socket a know-to-work one? A dead battery won't keep it from booting. You may have to split the case and see if the logic board has all its parts firmly placed, ram included. Then look into whether the analog, power supply, board is in order.
