I've always thought a MacSE candy/nut dish would be cool. With all the 
guts removed it would hold quite a bit. You would reach in through the 
screen opening.

Book ends.

Mount a little TV inside.

These ideas also do not involve cutting up the cases so they can be put 
back into service if needed.
