Hi: To get 800K disks, I tried Staples. I think they thought that I was nuts. They carried nothing less than 1.44Mb floppy disks.
Bear with me as I am a neophyte adn appreciate all comments in this regard, but as for the process to get the Mac OS 6.0.8 onto disk, I can understand dragging the disk onto the desktop. What I am not sure of is this statement about "imaging". How will I know if I am "imaging" Mac OS 6.0.8? Is this something built into the ROM? Is it associated with software installed on the computer? I think that disk copy is on all Macs. Please correct me if I'm wrong. Also, is there any way to replace the disk driver or to check if the disk drive or the controller itself is bad/working improperly on the SE? Forgive me for delving outside the compact Mac group, but considering the problem begs me to use another Mac, I must mention the two other Macs that I have that, I guess, I might be able to use. The PowerMac 7200 runs really well, even though it had had a rough shipment ride. The front plate was shattered on delivery. I had to pick pieces of the plate out of the disk driver. It also was jamming the power buttom, located on the lower left-hand side if the Mac was facing you. The slightest vibration, and the computer would shut down. So, the PowerMac 7200 is wide open to air. I packed it in a bag to protect it from dust until I can get a front piece for it. The PowerMac 7500 needs a power cord, monitor and keyboard. So, this project may be on hold. I'll try Radio Shack as was suggested but I have never found anything there previously when I was looking for it.
