Hey guys, I recently picked up a Mac SE FDHD, and after playing with it for a bit noticed there's a lot of problems with it. So I hit up ebay and saw one with a "buy it now" price of $30. Maxed out ram with an internal drive, unlike mine with just 1mb ram and an external drive - so I decided to pick that up and do something diffrent with mine.
Came accross this link http://www.mini-itx.com/projects/wraithse/ This guy put a mini-itx MB inside his Mac SE, but to me it looks horrible. He chopped out a lot of plastic on the case for drives, used an LCD thats to small, etc etc. So I'm thinking I'll create my own Mini-ITX PC Mac SE, but try to keep it as close to original looking as possible. Found a color 9" CRT I'll be ordering to replace the b/w one (or possibly using a 9" LCD if I can find such a thing) Rewiring the external hard drive to hold a USB2 modern external drive and converting the 50pin mac scsi cable into a usb2 cable (by just using 4 of the 50 pins on the cable) Anyway, question time. THis Mac I have now is full of a lot of fine scratches, dings, etc as well as 15 years of yellowing. I'm going to attempt to refurb the case to like-new from-the-factory look. I was thinking about using a very fine sandpaper (3000 grit wet) to remove the surface scum. Has anyone tried something like this, or do you know of a better way to remove 15 years of age from the outside? I'm also going to try to convert the ADB mac keyboard and mouse to PS/2 - Yes, I want to be that accurate with the overall "look" of it. Any ideas would certainly be handy - thanks! ****************** Jeremy D. Pavleck [EMAIL PROTECTED] -- Compact Macs is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/>.
