I installed a new (box unopened, shrinkwrap still on, etc.) Asante
MC+30IET64 card into my SE/30. The SE/30 is running System 7.5.5, 250MB
HDD, 128MB RAM.

I think the card's toast. Does anyone have a better idea?

Possibly the "bug" inherent in older Asante cards. They have serious
problems connecting through an "auto-sensing" switch. I have gotten
around this by using a plain "hub" for connection to a router. Others
have gotten them to work by configuring them manually - assigning a
permanent IP address.

I assigned a static IP address. Same problem. I plugged into a Netgear DS108 hub. Same problem.

Should I be looking for a different model of NIC for this machine?
