What modem would be the best or which modems are compatible with my Mac Classic running sys 7.01?
I. myself, have had mixed results. My slower modem, a Prometheus 24e (2400 baud) works well with MacPPP and no particular script. I had to play with the MacPPP control panel speed settings to get it to work, however. The speed setting in the control panel seems to have nothing to do with the rated modem speed.
For my faster modems, Supra 144, Supra 288, and US Robotics 56K, I've found they work best with OT/PPP installed. OT/PPP adds a modem control panel that recognizes a good many modems.
