Sorry, I don't think I was clear enough.  You need to drag the files 
inside the system folder out of the system folder and then back in 
the system folder.  I don't know, but maybe this only works with 
system 6 and up. I haven't actually done this myself, just heard 
people talk about it on other areas of these email lists.

also, this may sound way out, and the drive shoudn't even mount if 
this was the case, but... do you have a terminator on the hd?  This 
may not be of much help, though.  Tell us how it turns out :)

I tried your solution but it didn't worked... I tried to move the System
folder and then put it back, I did that several time but the Mac face never
appeared. My floppy does not have that Mac face too by the way...
Finder version is 5.3 by the way. I'll try to get system 6.0.8 soon, maybe
it will help...
Do you have other suggestions?

 start off of it.  To "bless" it, drag the contents of the system
 folder out and then back in or until the system folder has a picture
