You have to "bless" the system folder first before attempting to start off of it. To "bless" it, drag the contents of the system folder out and then back in or until the system folder has a picture of a mac face on it. Then you should be ready to rumble :)

I own an old Mac Plus connected to an Apple HD20SC. I put the "System
folder" from my system floppy disk on my formatted hard drive (the drive
mount without any problem) but when I try to launch the computer without a
startup floppy, I get a flashing question mark. It does not seem to find the
System folder. Is there something I did wrong? Can you help me about that?
