Plus in a 128/512k case?

I'm hoping someone on here has the answer to something that's been 
puzzling me for a while.  Along with my SE/30 (long story, see other 
posts), I also got a Mac Plus.  It says "Macintosh Plus 1mb" on the 
back.  But it's in what looks to be a previous-model case.  It doesn't 
say Macintosh Plus on the front, and it has a large Apple logo in an 
embossed square in the bottom left-hand corner.  Is this normal for a 
Mac Plus?  Or do I have a really early-model one?  Or is it a case mod?
