I think I won't need that extension after all. I have tried all the
applications contained in the hard disk (AppleWorks, Microsoft Word, Microsoft
Works and a couple smaller ones I can't renmember their names now), and all of
them run without problem. And after a bit of Googling, I have learned that the
CFM-68 runtime comes by default with System 7.6.1 update, so probably it's
there not because any app uses it, but because the updater installed it.

I'm not going to use that system to run the computer daily. It's too slow -
both Word and AppleWorks take up to 30 seconds to boot. And what I love of
Compact Macs are that they are simple and fast. I'm going to make a clean
install of System 6.0.8 (the smaller the Classic II will run with) in other
disk, and keep the 7.6.1 to "show the world" what that computer can do - at the
expense of speed. Because of that, I would like to keep all those nice features
installed if possible. And anyway, System 7.6.1 in a machine five years earlier
than it isn't much slower than Windows 95 in a machine of it's time... and that
says much in favour of the Apple guys! :-))

Of course, I checked *both* drives for errors and rebuilt the desktop files
before posting the first message... I haven't tried to zap the PRAM, but I
don't think it would help.
