I am trying to figure out how to make a boot disk for my Performa 575, but I am running into multiple roadblocks. Here are the main issues I am facing:
The internal (infernal?!) SCSI 2x speed CD-Rom drive has died I don't have Stuffit on the Mac, so I can't unstuff anything I download to the Mac I need an external CD or CD-RW drive to load my Stuffit CD! The current hard disk, which contains the only OS I have, is too small, only 80mb I can't seem to get any of the utilities I have tried to create a Mac boot disk on PC to work
Solutions?
I can send you a disktools floppy image that will work fine using winimage or rawrite ect.
Basilisk II is your best, free bet for a mac emulator.
stuffit lite 3.something will also fit nicely on a second image and will allow you to unstuff some other versions. Stuffit comes with the netscape installer if you where planning to use that browser.
http://home.earthlink.net/~gamba2/bootdisks.html has a link for a 7.5.3 bootable cd but the link is currently down.
http://www.graphixmad.plus.com/mac_troubleshooter/contents.html hosted the file but it took up to much space. Still my fellow Amiga users site is very helpful for mac folks, handy if your in the UK. The image file is around 9mb and I can send it as a segmented stuffit file that can be reasembled with stuffit lite 3.something. :)
040 macs are a little OT for this list so I didn't mention the mac. ;)
