An SE 30 on eBay now going for 149$. I'm in the wrong business.
Well, JW, go out and find a perfect-looking SE/30 and its manuals and the software listed, and YOU TOO can have over $149 for your coffers....
The dang thing has only 2M or RAM and a 40M HD!!! And I thought the way to boost the value of these was to upgrade the RAM and hard drive and pre-install the internal ethernet card.
Actually, one tends to do better selling such additions separately, though on an SE/30 the accessories are so old, I guess they're not likely to bring much by themselves either. My impression is that they don't add much to the final selling price, but I certainly haven't done a statistically valid survey--which is to say, I'm guessing.
The thing that drives up the price of an SE/30 is an installed video card, it appears. It will be interesting to see if it drives the price past what the video card would sell for alone. We recently saw an SE/30 with the Micron card sold on Ebay. At present, someone has the Micron card adn the gray scale adapter for auction as separate items:
