Hi folks - I'm a newbie to the Compact Macs list, but a longtime tinkerer
with Macs. I do have a question about getting the old style floppies. My SE
still apparently has its original floppy drive. Should I replace it with the
newer version, or is there a source for the old floppies?
I'm looking forward to making the most of my little SE. Thanks!
Assuming it's a 800Kb drive, you can't simply replace it with a 1.4Mb drive. You need a ROM change as well. There must be some www pages on this??????
People say that they've got 800Kb floppies in Staples in the US. Don't know if you still can. Using 1.4Mb floppies in a 800Kb drive should only be thought of as a temporary measure.
