Nope. ADB is entirely different with a 10 kH bus using 1/3 and 2/3 modulation timing. >This leads me to my next question - I thought this Mac SE had ADB on it, and >searched for ADB pinout, and it looks like it would work. All SE's had ADB. Four pins with a plastic alignment pin. >Anyway, the mouse is connected to a diffrent kind of port, with 8 holes in >it. The modem port. It's pretty much identical to the printer port. >I assume the mouse goes there, as the sticker above it says MP, as in Mouse >Port. Modem port. Modified a bit by Apple to be compatible with RS232 which has been a standard for decades. It's possible that your mouse is really an RS232 device such as was used on early peecees and other, such as Sun, boxes. It would be possible to prepare special software to make one work but you certainly don't want to attempt that yourself. The connector for the PS/2 mouse is different, I think, than the Mac printer and modem connector. I thought it was larger. It's certainly not electrically compatible. Ask if you need detailed pinouts. -- --> There are 10 kinds of people: those who understand binary, and those who don't <-- -- Compact Macs is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/>.
