Hmmm, never tried to boot a Plus from a Zip drive. They can be strange 
things, not acting quite like a hard drive or a floppy. It may be that 
you will need to use a terminator on the Zip drive in place of the 
termination select switch. Seems like this is what I had to do when using 
one on an Apple ][gs. It is about the same vintage as the Plus.
