Re: SE/30 motherboard swap into SE/FDHD

Should work fine.  Sometimes their is a problem installing an SE/30 MB  
into a regular SE because the metal case gets in the way and the power  
connecter doesn't line up.  However, AFAIK all SE FDHD cases should  
work fine.  I think that they just used the SE/30 guts for the SE FDHD  
save for the logic board of course.  Of course it is possible that you  
got some weird rev A SE FDHD that uses the older SE internals.  If you  
do report it so that we know that that exists otherwise the upgrade  
should be smooth sailing.

A small piece of advice.  Find 4MB or if you can 16MB simms for the  
SE/30 so you can bump the RAM to 32 or 128MBs.  The SE/30 is a lot more  
usable with more than 8MBs of RAM.

Subject about says it all. Before I do this, any caveats I should be
aware of? This is not the upgrade kit Apple sold to make the swap. I
have an SE with a Superdrive and a run of the mill MOBO from an
SE/30. I was going to do another hard drive upgrade to my SE and
since I had it apart anyway, why not reassemble it with the new
board. Seems like a straight R&R.
Comments? Tips? beware-ofs?
