That's kindof an end-run around the original question, but I'm in the same
dilemma you're in. I need two Classic II motherboards for units not working.

If you can muster the courage, it'd be a good time to pull it out and try
cleaning the motherboard with either the dishwasher method or a cotton swab
with rubbing alcohol. This has been known to bring some back to life.
