Not only have I run Basilisk II under X11 in MacOS X, I have run it without X11. If you wan the X11 version, the easiest way to get it is via fink. Download and install fink, and then go into the command line and type 'fink install basiliskii' as root and it will compile and install it for you. If your root user is not enabled you may have to enable it in the netinfo manager.

If you have no idea what I am talking about than you should probably just install the MacOS X version by Nigel Peason. You can find it here: http://www.users.bigpond.com/pear_computers/

Most modern unix applications have a "configure" script. If you want to accept the defaults, just type "./configure; make; make install". If you get errors and are not an experienced programmer, then wait for somebody else to solve the problem because it will get quite hairy.
