I'm in a rare mood this AM, forgive me if this comes off as rude.

Is your wife a collector of anything? How much of what she collects would
she be willing to dispose of to make YOU happy? Have you ASKED her?!

I would.

I believe there's room in everyone's lives for collections. Things that make
us happy. If your wife is so willing to make you UNhappy, maybe the poster
who suggested culling HER might not be too far off the mark.

I own a brood of odd Macs I intend to keep. If anyone says they're a problem
to them, after what my life experiences have shown me, I'd, without
hesitation, show them the door and keep the Macs.

If you're thinking it REALLY is in your best interest to remove machines,
then I'd make the Portable disappear. Mine's been trouble and spends most
of it's time under my bedroom desk at my feet. It runs, like yours, crankily
at best. And I'm not willing to protect it anymore.

Not the same be said for my Compacts. I have three needing motherboards.
They'll go nowhere. Even non-working. One day I'll find the parts for them
and set them to working again.

And they'll be decorations in my living room. Beautiful toys I can fire up
and make work again and again.

But that's just the nature of my love for my collectibles.
