Hi Everyone,
I joined this list a couple of weeks ago and am so glad that I did. I didn't know that there were so many others out there like myself that truly appreciate the Mac, especially the older ones. Here is a run down of my collection. I puchased an SE about 10 years ago used, and it was great for everything until I wanted to get on the Internet. Then, I purchased a Performa 6360 which was fine until about three years ago and I purchased a limited edition Flower Power model iMac-what a great machine. I also must say that Apple has the best and most outstanding customer service of any company that I have ever dealt with. Back to my collection. A couple of years ago a friend had an older Performa 6110 that her sister gave her and she didn't know what to do with it. I was able to buy it from her for a very small price. Then recently, which is also the connection as to how I found this list, I was able to purchase a Color Classic for next to nothing. It had previously been used at a school district and has a password protection on it. The OS is 7.01 and I am unable to put any other applications on it, or to save the neat games that are already on it. I did download from the Apple site OS 7.5.3 which is in 19 segments. The problem is is that when I put the cd I burned on my iMac into the Performa cdrom, or the scsii cdrom I have hooked up to my PB5300c (which I forgot to mention in my list of my collection which btw, I purchased off Ebay for next to nothing) the cd players won't read the cd burned on the iMac. I'm thinking I must have the plain OS 7.xx disks to reboot the machine. At this point, I'm not even sure if this will even work around the password protection. The program is not At Ease, either. If any one has any solutions to this situation, I would greatly appreciate it. I am happy to find other fellow Mac lovers. They are such great machines.
Mary- PS thanks for any help
