Hi Ian I had the same problem a few years ago. I bought one of the standard Torx screwdrivers and attacked the handle with a hacksaw. After a little while, I succeeded in sawing off enough of the handle (lengthwise) that it could fit into the gap. I've used it successfully many times since. Cheap and nasty, I know, but it does work.
