After managing to find the approproate screwdriver, I ripped the back off to have a tinker. I discover, rather amazingly, that's it's got a colourcard inside it, sitting vertically on some kind of bodgeboard, because the slot in the back is definitely an ethernet card, so I dunno what the point of the colourcard is.
I dare not tinker any further because I don't have a CRT discharger tool. The anode cap also appears to be in the wrong place, it's on the analogue board side of the tube, which makes it difficult to get to. Assuming I feel brave enough to have ago anyway, has anyone built a discharge tool before? The instructions seem quite simple, and I'm about to order a 100M resistor from RS. They don't seem to have pre-built discharge tools, anywhere else (in the UK) that does? Ta. -- Compact Macs is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/>.
