Yeap, the Colour Classic is serving as a serial console.  Given
that the Apple IIe card is using the PDS slot and my SCSI<->ethernet
bridge is kinda flakey, that's about the only reliable way to use
it (unless I switch to PPP or SLIP).

I did the VGA trick, though I don't know if it was necessary.

It had a full 68040 about five minutes after I set my eyes on it,
and before it even got home.  :-)  When I picked up the LC 575's
for mainboards (for three planned Colour Classic upgrades), I picked
up a bunch of Quadras for processors.  Unfortunately, one of those
Quadras was mislabeled and it was 25 MHz instead of 33 MHz.  This
mistake is no longer regretted.
