Well, my SE/30 is now safely ensconced in its new home, the SE case. Well, half an SE case to be precise - the back cover is off the SE/30, the front remains an SE. I realise this might upset the purists but hey - it works and I didn't need to play around with the tube. Bearing in mind that it was me breaking the previous tube which caused a problem, I'm quite happy to just steer clear of that thing.

Whilst I was waiting, all the memory arrived too so I'm now upgraded to the full 128Mb. 128Mb drive, 1Gig RAM, a wolf in sheep's clothing - what more could be asked for? Well, swift booting would be one thing I suppose - it takes an age to check all its RAM>

So...

This means I now have a spare SE logic board, a 40Mb internal drive, an 800k floppy and 4 x 1Mb RAM chips. Anyone interested? I'm afraid it's the bin if not.

Cheers,
Ian
(still contemplating whether an SE case can successfully be used in a mini-ITX project)
