The 800k (I assume) external drives this gentleman has have a part number

M1234. I assume these drives are for both Apple II(gs) and Mac. Is it
safe to assume these drives will work on a Mac Plus? I've never used an
external floppy drive before, and want to make sure I don't fry the
floppy controller.
If the model name on the bottom of the drive is "Apple 3.5 Drive" it will work fine. It wass designed to be used on the Plus and the Apple // line. If it says "Unidisk 3.5" then it won't. As far as I know, that model is not Mac compatible.
Will System 6.0.8 fit on one floppy, so I can use one drive for the system and one for applications? It's doubtful I would need any additional drivers, etc., for this machine. It would probably be used mostly for old games and such. If not, what system would? ISTR a thread in the last week or so that said 6.0.3 would.
Yes, I have a 6.0.8 boot disk (the system tools disk) and it works great. I think you can even still download it from Apple.
And here's the real odd ball question: Assuming I could find enough games
to do this, does a keyboard have to be hooked up to this machine? I think
it would be neat if I could have this machine hooked up with a mouse
attached to it, the external floppy drive tucked behind it (with its
System disk inserted), and just use it to play old games. If a keyboard
is required, would just the 10 key keyboard suffice, or do I need a real
keyboard? I think it would be pretty cool (wow, am I a geek!) to have a
machine set up to play card games etc, without the keyboard.
Yes, this works fine. I hooked up my Plus this way to test it until I could find the keyboard cable. :-)
Enjoy the new Plus.
