Hi, I recently acquired a CC/5500 takky upgraded Mac...I haven't actually done this, but if there are PCI Wireless cards with Mac drivers and you can get a card to fit in there, there's no reason why it shouldn't. I have confirmed that the single PCI slot should work as a PCI slot without a riser in there at all, as I used a mostly-disassembled 6500 mobo in a 6214 case with a Voodoo3 sticking vertically out of the case to reflash it.
Is it possible to install a wireless PCI card in the PCI slot and go wireless on the Takky?
Thanks,
Craig W.
It's been awhile since I've worked on my Takky (Had it booted a couple or three times while disassembled, but haven't gotten it working since. I think I damaged the tube :/ ) so I don't remember how much space there was in the PCI area.
You might be better off with a Ethernet -> Wireless bridge, though I suppose if there's room for a NIC there'd be room for the wireless card.
