Hi Folks, I recently obtained a 4Mb Mac Plus and am very impressed that a 20 year old Apple Macintosh can function as well as it does! I actually intend to use it over the next few weeks for real tasks.
I don't want to add an external hard disk, so I am limited to 800k. I plan to use System 6.0.8 and was wondering if it would be possible to use an Asante LocalTalk to Ethernet convertor to connect the system via AppleShare to a folder on my G3 where I keep all my Mac Plus applications - and I want this all from one floppy disk! Does anyone know if its possible to get a System 6.0.8 with AppleTalk and AppleShare capabilites all on one 800k floppy? I expect that I am pushing to get a LaserWriter driver on there too, but anyone know if I can get my LaserWriter 4/600PS working at all on this system? Is there anyway to tell if I have a beige or a platinum Plus? The case looks beige'ish - but this might be due to UV bleaching. The case has a marker-pen number "3" on the front and a few sticky patches where labels have been romoved, I know I will never get the UV bleaching out, but can anyone recommend anything to clean the case with? Anyone know what "the best" word processor would be for this system? I know I have the choice of a few, such as Word 5.1 and ClarisWorks 2 - but what was considered the best during its days?
