Did you remember about the screw underneath the battery cover on the back
of the Plus?  :)  I had this same problem last time I opened my Plus after
working with newer compact Macs for a long time, I forgot the Pluses had a
fifth Torx screw in the battery compartment.  This was after 30-45 minutes
of cursing, pushing, pulling, and tugging to no avail. :)
