Hypercard 1.0 (the version shipped with the SE and other Macs at that time) was free and allowed you to both create new stacks and view stacks created by other people or companies. Later, arround 1990 Apple realized how great a product Hypercard was, and turned it into commercial software. Hypercard 2.0, thus, was released into two flavors: a free "player" that would allow you to use already created stacks and add data into them (but not add new cards or modify existing ones), and a commercial "editor" that would allow you fuilly creation and modification of stacks. In addition to this, Apple made unavailable the older version 1.0. Later on, arround 1997 or so (can't say for sure), Apple decided to discontinue Hypercard. I think there is no version of Hypercard that can't run on an 68k Mac. This said, if you write me offlist, I can point where to get Hypercard 1.0.
